A weekend to read, write, and rest among the evergreens.

Step away from the noise and into a space designed for story—whether you’re here to get lost in a book or finally return to the page.

Two retreats. One intention: space to return to story.

Story & Spruce retreats are intimate, women-only, cabin-style gatherings for readers and writers who want uninterrupted time to read deeply, write freely, and reconnect with their creative rhythm.

Hosted at the Cabins at Bear River Lodge, near Coalville, Utah, each retreat is set among quiet evergreens—an environment that invites you to slow down and sink into the page.

Days are shaped by long stretches of reading and focused writing time, while evenings bring a softer rhythm of conversation and connection.

Just time to read, write, and settle into the story.

Readers Retreat

September 24-26, 2026

The retreat follows a gentle, flexible flow designed around rest and reading:

  • Arrival + welcome time to settle in and get comfortable

  • Long, uninterrupted reading blocks throughout the day

  • Campfire book club gatherings for cozy, optional discussion

  • Evenings spent in relaxed connection, warm spaces, and quiet community

There’s no pressure to participate in everything. You can be social, quiet, or somewhere in between—the weekend is built to meet you where you are.

Writer Retreat

October 22-24, 2026

The retreat follows a flexible, creative flow designed to support deep focus, inspiration, and steady writing time:
